Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Dele Alli, has revealed that the passion of the club’s supporters make him delighted to play for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
The England international was amongst the scorers as Tottenham thrashed Stoke City 4-0 away at the weekend and he was full of praise for the travelling fans.
Alli told post-match journalists: “They were outstanding. When we come away to places like this it’s important that they’re behind and keep pushing us to the end.
“They haven’t stopped singing the whole way through and I’m delighted to play for a club like this.”
Tottenham were hugely impressive at the Bet 365 Stadium and ran out comfortable winners, with Son-Heung Min scoring a brace before goals from Alli and Harry Kane added further gloss to the scoreline.
Pochettino’s team remain unbeaten in the Premier League so far this season having won two and drawn two of their four fixtures.
It will be intriguing to see whether they can continue to achieve positive results once the Champions League gets underway as the manager is likely to rotate his squad with regularity.
For now, though, the club’s supporters will be basking in the glory of yesterday’s win, and they must have been especially delighted with the display of Alli, who had a superb pass completion rate of 97 per cent, while he also created three chances and had a shot accuracy of 67 per cent.
Tottenham host Monaco at Wembley on Wednesday in the Champions League, with the club set to smash their attendance record for a home fixture, with over 80,000 tickets having been sold.
