An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun, has sentenced one person to two months imprisonment for stealing a cellphone, clothes and other valuables valued at N205,000.
The Police had charged Ayobami Haruna, whose address was not provided, with burglary and stealing, to which he pleaded guilty.
Delivering her judgment, the Magistrate, A.O Adeyemi, said that the prosecution had proved its case against the convict beyond reasonable doubt.
Adeyemi therefore sentenced the convict to two months imprisonment with an option of N50,000 fine.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the convict and others still at large committed the offences on April 11 at about 10:30a.m., at Onigbongbo Village near Atan area, in Ota.
Adaraloye said that the convict and his accomplices broke into the house of the complainant, Erinkoku Olamide and stole a cellphone, clothes and other valuable items valued at N205,000.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 390 and 412 of the Criminal Code Vol.1, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
