The Kwara State Government has awarded a contract for the supply of transformers to Alanamu community in Ilorin South Local Government Area of the state.
The state Ministry of Energy awarded the job to MABS Engineering Global Concept Ltd, following an appeal by the community leaders after suffering a prolonged blackout.
Hajiya Mariam Ahmed, the Kwara Commissioner for Energy, made this known Wednesday in Ilorin during a Ministerial Tenders Board and Technical Bill evaluation meeting.
The meeting followed Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq approval to address the plight of the Alanamu Community whose transformer had been vandalised for some time.
Ahmed urged the contractor to be diligent in executing the project and keep to the time frame stipulated by the government.
She said that the contractor have five weeks to execute the project.
Kikelomo Saka, the Director of Personnel, Finance and Supply (DPFS) of the ministry, reiterated the commitment of the state government to boost the energy sector.
She urged members and representatives of the committee to be diligent and follow due process in the discharge of their duties.
She said that the committee had properly examined the technical and financial details submitted by each company, and was convinced that MABS Engineering Global Concept Ltd. was qualified and most suitable to execute the project.
Saka said the company was recommended for the contract among other bidders having met the expectations of the Board of Technical Committee.
