The Catholic Arch Bishop of Jos, Most Rev. Ignitus A. Kaigama, has called fervent prayers for priests across the world to enable them succeed in their calling.
Kaigama said: “It is not easy to survive as a priest or as a Bishop except through prayers.”
Bishop Kaigama stated this on Thursday during symbolic church service at the Blessed Sacrament Church, Jenta Mangoro to mark his 20th anniversary as a Bishop.
Kaigama, who was ordained as a Bishop on April 23, 1995 in the Jalingo Diocese of Taraba State, was posted to Jos Arch Diocese after the demise of the late Bishop G. G. Ganaka.
He has however chosen this day to celebrate with the widows to join him in thanking God for sparing his life, even as he confesses that is not easy to survive as a priest or Bishop and prayed God to aways forgive them where they might have fallen short.
He said on April 23, 1995, he was ordained as a Bishop in Jalingo, symbolizing that he today clocked 20 years as a Bishop.
He said the choice of Jenta Mangoro is also symbolic to him because of the poor access road to the church as a mark to remind them that a road to heaven is also not an easy one.
He announced the donation of 500 tubers of yam, bags of maize and cash of N1 million to the widows.
Explaining that though he is not a salary earner, he has been able to raise the item from his charity account and well wishers.
Kaigama said a lady who married many years ago without any issue has also been contributing faithfully to the charity account and urged the widows to use their powers in their prayers to pray for her so that one day she will come and give testimony that God finally blessed her with children.
