Birmingham FC of England youngster, Viv Solomon-Otabor, has been called for trials with the national Under 23 team, otherwise known as Dream Team VI.
The trials are in preparation for Nigeria’s Olympic qualifiers ahead of Rio 2016.
Solomon-Otabor ended speculation over his future by penning a fresh one-year contract with Birmingham City, the Championship club has confirmed via its official webpage.
Before signing the new deal, the 19-year-old’s former agreement with The Blues was due to run until June 30, 2015.
With Birmingham City recently announcing the departure of eight players from the club next season, Solomon-Otabor is expected to fight for first-team opportunities.
His performances for the youth teams of the St Andrew’s outfit this term have ticked the right boxes, and assisting Birmingham City win the Birmingham Senior Cup was arguably the highlight of his season.
Solomon-Otabor, who has committed his international future to Nigeria, has been on the payroll of Birmingham City since 2012.
