One hundred and seventy million people voted this season in the just concluded BBNaija “Double Wahala” reality TV show, organisers said.
Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the host of the TV reality show, revealed this on Sunday.
Obi-Uchendu said also 30 million people voted in the final that saw Miracle Igbokwe clinching the prize money of N25 million and a SUV worth N12 million, a trip for two valued at N4.7 million and television and other electronic items worth N3.3 million.
Igbokwe also won the Arena Games contest and got N1 million.
He defeated other four other finalists: Tobi Bakre (Tobi), Asogwa Alexandra Amuche Sandra (Alex), Chinonso Nina (Nina) and Cynthia Nwadiora (Cee-C).
Igbokwe was born on February 17, 1995.
He attended the International Aviation College and the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria.
He finished from Dee unique International High School.
Igbokwe’s love of dancing and camping is only parallel by his sense of fashion, especially his skinny jeans.
NAN reports that the show began on January 28 with initial 20 contestants.
Igbokwe emerged winner of the Big Brother Naija reality show after having the highest vote of 38.18%.
He also emerged winner of the Pepsi refresh the mix challenge and payporte games, being the housemate with the least time of 53 minutes, 30 seconds on the scoreboard
Being the winner of two other challenges, he got N2 million in addition to the standard cash prize of N25 million.
When asked why he kept to himself for the first few weeks in the house, he said: “I like to observe my environment first before taking actions.”
It was an emotional moment for the last two housemates as Obi-Uchendu led them through the house for the last time.
Fans and family of Igbokwe could not hide their excitement as they have taken to social platforms to congratulate him.
@J.Jomojuwa tweeted: “Miracle is the winner of #BBnaija double wahala. Deserved too. He was the most consistent and actually came through winning the head of house and games several times.”
Ex-BBNaija housemate @jonogah tweeted: “Miracle has remained a gentleman throughout #bbnaija double wahala and there is something we can learn about his patience, calm and respect for others especially women. That is why he is loved.”
@michaelobasi tweeted: “I am so happy today because Miracle won #bbnaija.”
@tweetoracle: “We came, we voted and we died here. Thank you so much #teammiracle #bbnaija.”
Controversial Cee-C took second place, while Tobi Bakare took third place, Alex came in fourth and Nina fifth.
The final show witnessed performances from “legbe legbe” crooner, Mr Real, “FIA” crooner, Davido, and performances from Kaffy and her dance crew.
