A former Governor of Ekiti State, Peter Ayodele Fayose, was said to have narrowly escaped death on Tuesday night along Afao Road, Ekiti State when his car was shot at by unknown gunmen.
According to information reaching us, Fayose noticed a Hilux car with a green plate number, which he suspected was occupied by hired assassins, trailing him.
He told his driver to increase the speed.
When the occupants of the Hilux van saw that they could not catch up with Fayose’s car, they opened fire on his car.
Fayose is one of the leading Peoples Democratic Party’s aspirant warming up for the governorship election in Ekiti State next year.
