The Governor of Adamawa State, Mohammed Umar Jibrilla Bindow, was one of the delegates who voted at his local government area of Mubi North in the All Progressives Congress Local Government Area Congress on Saturday.
Voting started at about 11am in an orderly manner.
Shortly before casting his ballot, Senator Bindow admonished delegates to exhibit the spirit of sportsmanship in the process.
He went philosophical by saying: “I’ve not anointed anybody as candidate because it is God that gives power and he gives it to whom He wishes.
“President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier advised us to ensure that only credible aspirants are elected so that they can provide quality representation.”
Bindow later said in an interview that he was satisfied with the outcome of the congress, urging those that emerged victorious to “make the party proud and those that lost to remain committed to the ideals of the party”.
Fifty-five delegates drawn from the 11 wards participated at the election, which produced the local government executive and three national delegates from each ward.
On his way out of Mubi, the Governor paid a surprise visit to his favourite suya spot to have a taste of the sumptuous roasted meat.
