A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress was on Thursday stabbed to death by unknown men inside the party secretariat at the Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos State.
Eyewitnesses said the deceased, David Daramola, 40, was stabbed minutes after he walked into the party secretariat to collect his Sallah gift.
The secretariat is located at K Close, 3rd Avenue, Festac area of the metropolis.
It was alleged that the men trailed to the secretariat.
Daramola was in the midst of other party members when he was murdered.
Witnesses said the killers came around 1:12pm.
The men who knifed him to death were said to be three on a motorbike and rode into the secretariat where he was discussing with other party men, shouting: “Where’s the money?”
Another eyewitness said: “Daramola was with his friends when the three men on motorbike rode into the compound and started shouting where the money is?
“Where is the money?
“Those that were with him ran away, but the three men surrounded him.
“They gave a deep cut on his chest and thigh.”
The victim was rushed to the Amuwo Odofin Council Primary Health Centre, but he was rejected and referred to another hospital due to the seriousness of his wounds.
He however died on the way to the hospital.
He was believed to have died of blood loss.
The incident was later reported at Festac Police Station, 2nd Avenue, Festac town.
Confirming the incident, Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Nwosu, said nobody had been arrested yet in connection with the murder of the politician.
Nwosu however said: “We shall definitely get his killers.”
