The All Progressives Congress membership registration and revalidation has been scheduled to hold from December 12, 2020 to January 9, 2021.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Gov. Mai Mala Buni, Chairman, APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee on Monday in Abuja.
“Having consulted stakeholders, including His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC membership registration and revalidation is scheduled to hold from Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020 to Saturday, January 9, 2021.
“All our members are hereby invited to revalidate their membership in their wards.
“Similarly, prospective members are also invited to take advantage of the membership registration process to join our party,’’ Buni, who is also the governor of Yobe, said.
He added that the membership registration and revalidation would take place simultaneously in every ward of the country.
Buni said the process of distributing the membership registration and revalidation materials to all the states, local governments and wards would be concluded before December 12.
He appealed to the party’s states, local governments and ward leaders to take necessary steps to ensure smooth and transparent registration exercise, adding that the committee would continue to provide regular update of the process.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Buni-led APC caretaker committee was inaugurated on June 25 to reconcile aggrieved members of the party across its state chapters.
The committee is also to organise a national convention that would usher in a new National Working Committee for the party.
Buni, while taking delivery of the party’s membership registration materials on November 5, said it was the beginning of efforts at repositioning the APC as a viable, consistent, cohesive and coordinated political party in the country.
