The Chairman of Enyimba International FC of Aba, Felix Anyansi-Agwu, has been presented with an award for being the “Most Successful and Longest Serving Club Administrator” in Nigeria.
Anyansi-Agwu was the recipient of this award in acknowledgment of his consummate leadership and remarkable longevity at the helm of the two-time African Champions, as part of activities to close the maiden Ahlan Preseason Tournament in Kano.
Anyansi-Agwu, who has been chairman for close to two decades, ushered in an unprecedented era of success on the domestic and continental football scene.
The People’s Elephant, under his guidance, has grown to become the most successful football club in the country, with seven league titles, four domestic cups triumphs, and in becoming the first Nigerian club to win the CAF Champions League (in 2003, as well as 2004).
Expressing his appreciation for the award, the Chairman said: “This is a real validation of the work we have put into making Enyimba a global powerhouse.
“I wish to thank the organizers of the Ahlan Tournament for this honour, and I see it as something to spur us on; to galvanize us to action and greater achievements.”
