For allegedly defrauding Osun State of N60 million while serving as commissioner for Finance and Economic Development in the administration of former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Moses Adetoyese Ojo is to be remanded in prison custody.
The order was handed down on Thursday by a Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Ojo was arraigned alongside Olaleye Olanipekun and Isaac Ayoola for allegedly conspiring to perpetrate the crime.
The three men were said to have committed the offence punishable under Sections 383 and 390(9) of the state criminal law.
Their lawyer, Tewo Lamuye, applied for bail for the accused but he was turned down by the Magistrate, Olusola Aluko.
Aluko said a formal bail application should be brought by Lamuye before the next hearing of the case, which was fixed for March 19, 2012.
