Governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State has congratulated Alhaji Aminu Masari of the All Progressives Congress on his victory in Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
Shema announced the felicitation with the governor-elect at a news conference on Sunday in Katsina, after the declaration of the governorship result.
He called on the governor-elect to operate an open door policy that would move the state forward.
He advised him to invite technocrats that would assist him to discharge his duties to the people diligently.
“The act of governance in Katsina is difficult; therefore, the governor-elect should strive hard to provide dividends of democracy to the people,” he said.
Shema said the Peoples Democratic Party government that ruled the state under him for eight years delivered democratic dividends in education, health, agriculture and infrastructural development.
He urged youths to avoid taking law into their hands while celebrating the victory of the APC in the state, advising that they should be peaceful in the celebration.
