Few days after he dumped the ruling Peoples Democratic Party for the All Progressives Congress, the Niger State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Musa Ibeto,on Wednesday boasted that come May 29, he will ensure the state APC takes over every strata of government.
Ibeto stated this at the inauguration of the state campaign team of the APC’s governorship candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, in Minna.
He said: “The victory of the party at the polls is based on the goodwill it enjoys across the state.”
He promised that the party in the February elections will deliver Niger State to its presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, and win the governorship, the three senatorial seats, 10 Houses of Representatives seats and the 27 seats of the state House of Assembly.
Ibeto, who is currently the leader of Niger State APC, said: “The reason for this is obvious: we have the goodwill, the composition that people will accept.
“We have the people that are ready to vote our party.
“And even when the time comes for local government election in the state, we will win the 25 councils also.”
Ibeto said the APC in the state will conduct peaceful campaigns that will not not lead to confusion and breakdown of law and order.
According to him: “Our party will conduct our campaign peacefully because we are sure of victory.
“It will be devoid of violence before and even after the elections.”
Bello said while inaugurating the campaign committee that the deputy governor is now the leader of the party in the state as the highest political office holder.
He expressed confidence in the campaign team, chaired by Alhaji Bako Shetima, and prayed for Gods’ guidance towards successful elections for the party.
