Ola Rasaq Kolade has been arrested alongside others by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command over an alleged attempt to kill his girlfriend, Anu Akinbiyi, for ritual and rape.
The Eagle Online was told that the incident occurred on December 26, 2024, but was reported to the police on January 16, 2025.
According to a Situation Report sighted by The Eagle Online, the case of conspiracy, rape, and attempted murder with intent to kill for ritual, was reported at the Ifo Divisional Police Headquarters on January 16, 2025 at about 4:20pm by one Adekunle Adesina of 5, Olaoye Street, Pakoto area.
Adesina was said to have lodged the complaint with Akinbiyi, who came to the station with him.
He reported that on December 26, 2024 at about 4pm, Kolade, Akinbiyi’s boyfriend, came to their house with one Ademola Otelana at Bosun area for a Christmas and Boxing Day visit.
He said after they were entertained, his sister followed them to their house in the Ajerogun area of Iyana Ilogbo.
The complainant said while she was in her boyfriend’s house, a minor misunderstanding ensued between them, which made her leave for home in annoyance.
He added that it took the intervention of Otelana for her to return to her boyfriend’s after about 30.
Adesina said on returning back to her boyfriend’s house, the disagreement continued as a result of the insistence of the Akinbiyi that she is not going to spend the night in Kolade’s house.
When it became apparent that she was not going to budge, Kolade escorted Akinbiyi to the bus stop around 9:20pm.
Akinbiyi was quoted as having said that when she was about getting on a commercial motorcycle, popularly known as okada, at the bus stop, she overheard her boyfriend telling “some person(s) on phone that she is the one coming on bike”.
She said not quite five minutes into the journey, “two boys who happened to be: Kolade’s friends: Chukwu Ebuka Michael, aka Odogwu, and Ade Bankole, a Point of Sale operator, emerged from the bush and attacked her and the okada rider”.
They later allowed the okada rider to go.

Akinbiyi said she was severely beaten with varying degrees of injuries inflicted on her face and chest.
The report added: “She was also bleeding profusely from the private part while her body flesh was chopped off at the back.
“She was unconscious and the assailants thought she had died.
“The complainant was seen in the pool of her blood and was taken to General Hospital Ifo on 27/12/2024 by good samaritans and was admitted for treatment.
“She was in coma for two (2) weeks while the parents were searching every nook and cranny for their missing daughter.”
The report said though they asked “the duo of Ola Rasaq Kolade and Ademola Otelana who took her away from home on 26/12/2024, they both lied that she was dropped off at Bosun Bus Stop around 1720hours of 26/12/2024”.
The SITREP added: “The complainant’s parents later got information through social media that their daughter has been in coma for days in General Hospital.
“The complainant regained consciousness early last week and she narrated the circumstances surrounding her visit to her boyfriend’s house, how she was attacked and series of visits to their house by the duo of Ola Rasaq and Ademola Otelana after her discharge from hospital.
“Ahe stressed that her phone Samsung A03 valued one hundred and thirty thousand naira (N130,000) collected from her by Chukwu Ebuka Michael a.k.a Odogwu on the day of the incident was later seen in her boyfriend’s possession, who confirmed to her that he sent Ade Bankole, the PoS operator now at large and Chukwu Ebuka Michael a.k.a Odogwu to beat her up.
“The mother of Ola Rasaq Kolade knows everything between her and Ola Rasaq, her son.”
On receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer of Ifo led a combined team of Anti-Robbery and Surveillance units to the area.
Four suspects were arrested in connection with the case: Michael; Rasheedat Kolade, mother of Kolade; Otelana; and Kolade.
However, Bankole was reported to have fled.
Adebiyi was then taken by the DPO to the General Hospital for further treatment, where the doctor confirmed in his medical report that the victim was admitted with varying degree of injuries inflicted on her face and chest, raped and bleeding profusely in her private part.
Her body flesh was equally confirmed chopped off at the back and she couldn’t recognise anybody even after being treated for weeks.
According to the SITREP, a preliminary investigation is ongoing ahead of the transfer of the suspects to the headquarters of the Ogun State Police Command in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the state capital.
The spokesperson of the Command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident to The Eagle Online.
Odutola, a Chief Superintendent of Police, said the public would be kept abreast of further developments on the case.
