The Zamfara State Government’s claim that a newly appointed Permanent Secretary, Dr. Maryam Keshinro Ismaila, is not an indigene of the state has been debunked by a fact-check investigation conducted by PRNigeria.
This involved verifying Dr. Ismaila’s bio-data and obtaining letters from Tsafe Emirate Council and other credible sources.
The investigation confirmed that she is indeed an indigene of Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The Zamfara State Government had written to the Head of Service of the Federation claiming that Dr. Ismaila did not meet the eligibility criteria for the position of Permanent Secretary due to her alleged non-indigeneship.
However, PRNigeria’s investigation has revealed that this claim is false and misleading.
Dr. Ismaila’s bio-data showed that she was born in Gunmi, Zamfara State and is an indigene of Tsafe.
The Tsafe Emirate Council has also issued a letter confirming her indigeneship.
Additionally, several credible sources from Tsafe, including her neighbours and classmates, have attested to her origin.
