Players and officials of the national U-17 female team, the Flamingoes, are in high spirit ahead of their African qualifiers against Zambia this weekend.
The team flew to Lagos from Abuja before proceeding to Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, venue of the encounter.
Head coach of the team, Peter Dedevbo, believes his girls will not disappoint Nigerians as they take on their Zambian opponents, the She-polopolo.
He also praised the efforts of the NFF in making sure he and his players lacked nothing during the period of the qualifying matches.
He said: “My bosses at NFF have really done noble since the beginning of our screening exercise and through out the qualifiers’’
“Despite the courts cases here and there, they still made sure my girls and I lacked nothing.”
Captain of the side, Victoria Aidelomon, is confident she and her team mates will make Nigerians proud come March 24 as she looks forward to leading her team out when the world cup begins later in the year.
Meanwhile, Flamingoes will engage Tewo Babes of Ibadan, in a friendly match this evening at the M.K.O, Abiola Stadium.
