The organisers of the 2012 African Football Executive Conference have confirmed that English Barclays Premier League side, Liverpool, will be participating in this year’s edition holding in South Africa from April 18 to 20, April 2012 at the Wanderers Club, Illovo.
The legendary Merseyside club will be represented by Bruce Bundrant, Head of Partnerships, who will also speak on behalf of the club also known as ‘The Kop’.
They recently won the 2011-2012 Carling Cup.
Bundrant has previously clinched major commercial and related partnerships as Account Supervisor (GMR Marketing), Director of Corporate Sales (The Luck Group / Sportfive) and Senior Account Executive (D.C. United (MLS). He was educated at West Virginia University (MA Sport Management), and Hardin-SImmons University (BBA-Marketing).
Internationally known for its European conquests and slogan ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, Liverpool have a massive following across Africa and have been involved in many initiatives as a club and as individuals (players) on the continent.
“The fact that Liverpool are now part of this year’s event bears testimony to the idea that the Confex is as a strategic platform through which essential partnerships can be formed between African football entities and their international counterparts,” said Confex Director, Edward Abankwa.
The event is an African conference for the business of football and attended by senior international football and business executives where they discuss the opportunities that exist for corporate sponsors in the industry and in the continent.
It is an opportunity to also explore business opportunities in the African football industry where cutting edge presentations, networking and socialising with the key players help attendees gain insights on most pertinent issues affecting African football.
