The Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi, has complained that he had no sufficient training sessions with his players before the match.
Keshi also showered encomiums on the players for weathering the storm despite not having enough time to train.
He said: “Anyway you look at it, just getting only one training session is very difficult.
“How are you going to achieve when you have only Thursday when all the players were available to train together and we still achieved this result?
“I am using this opportunity to congratulate the players for a job well done.
“It was a good game mostly in the second half.
“The first half was a little bit difficult because they (Malawi team) packed their players at the back.
“It was as a result of my players mobility at the front that Emmanuel Emenike got the goal for us before the end of first half.”
