Ahmed eulogized for aiding table tennis academy

The Kasali Lasisi Table Tennis Academy has praised the efforts of the Kwara State Government, under the leadership of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, for coming to the aid of the Academy financially.
The Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Academy, Bunmi Adedoyin, in a statement applauded the resolve of the state government at developing sports at the grassroots.
The statement noted the prompt release of the take off grant by the state government for the establishment of the Academy.
It explained that the Academy would be an avenue to help discover and nurture talents to stardom.
The statement urged the state government and other stakeholders not to relent in their support to ensure the successful and smooth take-off of the Academy.
It thanked the state Table Tennis Association and the leadership of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation for supporting the dream.
The Academy, the first of its kind in Nigeria, billed to commence operations in a few months time, will be equipped with the state-of-the-art-equipment and will be based at the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin.
The equipment of the Academy will arrive the country next month from Sweden.
The pioneer of the Academy, Kasali Lasisi, was a former African Champion in the ping pong game from 1976 to 1980.
He was the National Coach of Congo for 10 years before returning home with the idea of giving back to the society.
