Nigeria’s second representatives in the Orange/CAF Champions League, Enugu Rangers, are through to the second round of the competition, courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Vital O of Burundi.
The first leg encounter three weeks ago ended on a scoreless note in Burundi.
The first stanza ended 2-0 in favour of Enugu Rangers with goals from Uche Oguchi in the third minutes and Efe Yahere in the 16th minute of play.
The visitors came out smoking in the second half but were unlucky to miss a goal opportunity in the 55th minute.
Rangers’ Nnamdi Ayasodo was booked in the 52nd minute.
Alhaji Gero came in for Rasak Adegbite as the Coal City side fortified the attacking line.
Chritian Madu failed to make it three for Rangers, missing a very good chance.
Ugonna Uzuchukwu was replaced by Mathew Etim in the 80th minute.
Nzigamsado Steve lost what could have been a consolation goal when he missed an 89th minute penalty awarded the visiting side.
