Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress have declared their support for President Muhammadu Buhari on the need to stop the elongation of the tenure of the officers of the party, including the National Executive Committee headed by Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.
The governors had at a meeting with Buhari on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, failed to agree on the path to follow.
They disagreed among themselves, leading to the deadlock of the meeting.
Buhari had last month at the NEC meeting of the party expressed his opposition to the outcome of an earlier NEC meeting where tenure extension was approved for the executives.
However, on Wednesday, the governors declared their support for Buhari on the issue.
In a news alert by the News Agency of Nigeria, the governors were quoted as having said: “We are on same page with President Buhari, no disagreement among us.”
