Tottenham, Chelsea players to wear black armbands for Ehiogu

Tottenham and Chelsea players will wear black armbands during Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final to mark Ugo Ehiogu’s death.
There will also be a minute’s applause ahead of the game at the national stadium in celebration of Ehiogu’s life.
The Spurs Under-23 coach died on Friday morning after suffering a cardiac arrest at the club’s Hotspur Way training complex hours earlier.
Ehiogu joined Tottenham in 2014 following a 20-year playing career which included significant spells at Middlesbrough and Aston Villa.
The football community, including Tottenham players past and present, paid tribute to the 44-year-old after Spurs released a statement confirming his passing on Friday.
And Ehiogu’s Tottenham colleagues will join with opponents Chelsea to pay their respects at Wembley.
Tottenham tweeted: “Both teams will wear black armbands during tomorrow’s FA Cup Semi-Final at Wembley to mark the sad passing of our U23 coach Ugo Ehiogu.
“There will also be a minute’s applause at Wembley to celebrate the life of the defender, who passed away in hospital this morning.”
A minute’s applause will also take place in Ehiogu’s memory at the Vitality Stadium immediately prior to kick-off during AFC Bournemouth’s home match against Middlebsrough in Saturday, and Boro’s home encounter with Sunderland on Wednesday evening.
The teams will also wear black armbands.
