Senators, other federal legislators suspended by APC

The Niger State chapter of the All Progressives Congress on Monday suspended Senators David Umaru, Aliyu Sabi and Mustapha Sani Mohammed and other federal legislators from the state.
The party, which spoke through its Secretary, Barrister Mohammed Liman, said its action was as a result of non-remittance of dues to the party.
Addressing journalists at the state’s party secretariat in Minna‎, the Niger State capital, Liman said out of the 13 legislators in both chambers of the National Assembly produced by the party, only six have paid their dues till date.
He said: “The constitution of our party is very clear on it.
“It says any member or political appointee that came into being through the platform of our party and fails to pay his dues is technically not a member of the party.
“The constitution says you must pay your dues as at when due.
“This means, technically, they have suspended themselves.
“Those we elected did not deem it fit to support the party financially and how do they want the part to move on?
“hey have deliberately refused to pay their dues.
“They stand suspended technically.
“‎It is only four House of Representatives members and all State Assembly members that have complied.”
Among those affected are ‎Senators Mustapha Sani Mohammed from Zone A, David Umaru of Zone B and Aliyu Abdullahi Sabi of Zone C.
Members of the House of Representatives affected included Mohammad Mahmood, Lapai/Agaie Federal Constituency;‎ Muhammed Bala Faruk, Bida/Gbako/Kacha Federal Constituency; Ahmed Abu, Lavun/Edati/Mokwa Federal Constituency; Shehu Sule, Magama/Rijau Federal Constituency; Salihu Adamu Shadafi, Bosso/Paikoro Federal Constituency; and Abubakar Lado Abdullahi, Suleja/Tafa/Gurara Federal Constituency.
