The Nigerian Air Force on Thursday condemned the action of the two cadets, Peters O. Solomon and Abdullahi Fahad, who locked an artisan, Dahiru Lawal, in their car booth for allegedly breaking their car windscreen.
Lawal was rescued by the Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode.
According to the cadets, Lawal broke the windscreen of their Chrysler Stratus car at the Mile 12 area of Lagos State and attempted to escape.
They caught him, dragged him on the ground and dumped him in the booth of their car.
In a statement signed by the Air Officer Commanding, Air Vice marshal, M. A. Muhammed, the Air Force said preliminary investigation revealed that the accused persons are serving Nigerian Air Force personnel.
The statement further stated: “The leadership of Nigerian Air Force will like to make it absolutely clear that the Service does not condone this kind of behavior. We clearly understand our responsibilities to the public; therefore, as soon as the airmen are handed over to the Nigerian Air Force by the Police, we shall conduct the appropriate judicial process.”
