The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Barrister Tex Okechukwu, has said that it has no factional leadership anywhere and reaffirmed Ozonkpu Victor Ike Oye as the authentic APGA national chairman in Nigeria.
The statement by the APGA national leadership comes on the heels of recent reported court orders, wherein it was alleged that Supreme Court of Nigeria had ruled against Oye, and purportedly delivered judgment, recognizing a party chieftain, Edozie Njoku, as substantive national chairman of the party following a lawsuit before the apex court in the land.
While addressing party members at the end of the inauguration of National Publicity Media Team of the party, Okechukwu reiterated that the progressive party is not divided as fifth columnists want the world to believe, describing Edozie Njoku and pioneer national chairman of the party, Chief Chekwas Okorie as intruders whose aim is to destabilize APGA ahead of the 2023 general election in the country.
He emphasized that APGA remains the only political party in Nigeria with good intentions for the people, and presently has the best presidential candidate with best and verifiable antecedents, urging Nigerians and lovers of democracy to also, ‘ignore the rantings from the duo and cohorts as they had allegedly plotted to truncate every gains achieved in development of the party in the country’.
Hinting on the rationale behind the recent inauguration of APGA National Publicity Media Team, Okechukwu explained that the team among others, would continue protecting and projecting the good image of the party with every sense of passion, commitment and diligence.
The APGA spokesman lauded the media team for being in the frontline of projecting the party for many years now, and further admonished the APGA media team to remain steadfast and undeterred, and work collectively for the good of the party and generality of Nigerian populaces.
According to the release which partly stated, “the APGA National Publicity and Media Team, promised the national leadership of the party that they will deliver on the task, by protecting all the candidates of the party for 2023 general elections, noting that the media task of the party is now resting on the team and also assured him that the team will do their best to project and protect the image of the All Progressive Grand Alliance at all time”.
