A former President of the Senate, Anyim Pius Anyim, has been asked by some youth support groups to contest for the 2023 presidential election.
A statement made available Monday said the recent 61st birthday of the former SGF was used by the groups, numbering 84, to restate their calls to Anyim to go in fully to contend for the 2023 presidential election.
The youths in the statement pledged their allegiance to Anyim and declare their support for his presidential ambition.
“Youth groups, trade union officials, women’s groups, and a host of other unanimously endorsed the political expert as their preferred candidate for Nigeria’s presidency. With a track record of high performance, integrity and tangible results, he has earned the trust of the people and now they want him to step it up to the presidency and deliver the quality of leadership that is synonymous with his name,” the statement said.
