The President, Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, better known as Ekkiliyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria, Rev. Joel Billy, has said the country is in need of credible and good politicians irrespective of their religion affinity or believe.
The clergy advocated for a unitarian system of education, which the country is known for, adjudging that the establishment of schools by Christians and Muslims organisations is further tearing the country apart.
Billy said: “Christians establishing their schools and Muslims establishing their own schools is further tearing us apart.
“We want to go back to old time of living, where our primary and secondary schools even to university Christian and Muslim cohabit together.”
In his sermon, with a theme: “Fear not,” Billy enjoined Nigerians to be optimistic and overcome the fear of Boko Haram insurgents and herdsmen attacks, assuring them that the country is coming out strong from the clutches of economic degradation.
Billy, who ministered as a special guest at the Adamawa State Government House Chapel on Sunday, took his Bible text from Isaiah 7:4 and Matthew 14:30, saying that the opposite of fear is Faith, calling on all Christians to have faith in God in all situations.
