Max Air limited on Wednesday promised to complete transportation of its 33,473 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2017 Hajj on August 26.
The Airline’s Public Relations Manager, Alhaji Ibrahim Dahiru, gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Kano.
Dahiru said: “I want to assure our intending pilgrims on ground that we are going to transport them to the Holy land before the expiration of the deadline for the closure of the King Abdulazeez International Airport, Jeddah on August 26.”
He stated that the airline had alredy transported over 30, 000 intending pilgrims from various airports across the country to the Holy land.
According to Dahiru, the airline has completed the airlift of intending pilgrims for Kwara, plateau, Kaduna, Jigawa, Kogi and Zamfara States.
He explained that the airline had made eight trips each for Sokoto and Katsina states pointing out that the remaining one flight for each of the two states would be conducted between now and Thursday.
He disclosed that the airline had also made two rescue flights for Bauchi State due to the problem encountered by the airline contracted to airlift its intending pilgrims.
Dahiru also disclosed that the airline had transported 10,000 Nigerien intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia with its extra Boeing 747 aircraft.
He restated the commitment of the airline to ensure a hitch-free Hajj operation this year and called on the state pilgrims welfare boards to cooperate with the airline to achieve the desired results.
NAN reports that no fewer than 33, 473 intending pilgrims were allocated to the airline by National Hajj Commission of Nigeria for transportation to Saudi Arabia for the 2017 Hajj.
