Super Eagles’ opponents, Zambia, has continued to hit the country in trickles ahead of Saturday’s all-important Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Zambia, which set up a training camp in Accra, Ghana after a proposed tour of Spain was botched, had spent the last four days in the Ghanaian capital trying to perfect strategies for the must-win game.
According to Chris Chibuye, the team manager of the Chipolopolo, the Southern African side closed the Ghana camp and flew to Abuja where they will stay before moving down to Uyo for the game.
Austria-based striker, Patson Daka, is enroute to link up with his Chipolopolo teammates in Uyo.
Daka was a doubt for this weekend’s encounter due to injury, but the youngster has posted a picture of himself on his official Facebook account on a plane with the caption: “Heading for National duty #Bola Na Lesa.”
This development should excite the Zambian camp and fans alike as the young U-20 star looks to have shaken off the injury he sustained playing for his club, Liefering.
Daka was on on target for Zambia in the 1-0 away win in Algeria and could prove to be instrumental for the Chipolopolo once again.
Zambia trail Nigeria by three points and must beat Nigeria to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
