A woman, Haiye Aginni, has allegedly stabbed an 80-year-old man, Ladan Bature, to death in front of the mosque at Kara Market in Ogun State.
According to a Situation Report sighted by The Eagle Online by Ojodu Abiodun Police Division, the incident occurred on March 3, 2025.
The Eagle Online understands that the case was reported at the police division at about 8:30pm the same day.
Though the cause of the stabbing of Bature to death by Aginni was not stated, the man was said to have been rushed to the hospital after the incident, where he was confirmed dead.

As soon as his corpse was returned to Kara Market, a report was lodged with the police, which acted swiftly to arrest the suspect.
The exhibit from the scene of the crime had since been recovered, with the corpse deposited at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu for preservation and autopsy.
The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal and Investigation Department at the command headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
When contacted, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed this to The Eagle Online.
Odutola, a Chief Superintendent of Police, said details would be made available to the media as soon as they are available.
