With barely 40 days to the governorship election, the All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate in Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Sanni, popularly known as Abu Lolo, on Saturday disclosed that if voted into power, he will not probe the administration of Governor Babangida Aliyu.
Sanni gave the assurance in Minna when he played host to the media ahead of the February polls in the state.
While responding to a question ob whether he would probe the Aliyu-led administration if he emerges victorious, he said: “I have zero tolerance for corruption.
“Probe is a government decision and I am going to run an inclusive government.
“I will not probe Governor Aliyu.
“Instead, I will run an inclusive government where everybody will contribute on how we govern the state.
“Probing to me is not a priority.
“There are many ways to address mismanagement, which can be by either mistake but most times deliberate.
“I will live by example and ensure that I fix all the moribund infrastructure in the state if elected.”
Furthermore, Sanni said: “My aspiration to be governor of Niger State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress is to address all these anomalies and salvage the state from despotic Niger State Emperor second to none after Mobutu Sese Seko.
“I have confidence that come February 28, 2015, Nigerlites will vote massively for me and my party to bring the desired change and developments.
“My fellow Nigerlites are tired of empty promises and white elephant projects.”
Sanni said that he is on a rescue mission to salvage the state from the clutches of hopelessness.
He lamented that Niger State is the largest in the federation in terms of land mass, “yet our state remains backward in all parameters and indices of development due to mercantilist’s style of governance in the state”.
The gubernatorial candidate was of the opinion that Niger State is endowed with rich natural resources, arable land for mechanized agriculture, hydro-electricity dams and perennial dams, but the God-given natural resources are grossly untapped and underutilized, while the state depends largely on meagre federation account that will not bring succour to the people.
