We’ll target mosques, Islamic institutions in our next attacks – MEND

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta has vowed to launch attacks on mosques and other Islamic institutions in its next round of hostilities.
MEND said except the Christian Association of Nigeria, the Catholic Church or its leader, Henry Okah, intervenes, the attack will commence on May 31, 2013.
It also said that the cessation of hostilities against Christians and their places of worship by dreaded sect, Boko Haram, will stave the retaliation.
The statement added: “Also the assurance for a cessation of hostilities targeted at Christians in their places of worship, made privately or publicly by the real Boko Haram leadership will make us call off this crusade.”
In a statement on Sunday by its spokesman, Jomo Gbomo, MEND said: “The bombings of mosques, hajj camps, Islamic institutions, large congregations in Islamic events and assassination of clerics that propagate doctrines of hate will form the core mission of this crusade.”
Codenamed “Operation Barbarossa”, Gbomo said it will run alongside its current campaign against the Nigerian state codenamed “Hurricane Exodus.”
