Watford’s target is to escape relegation – Ighalo

Watford striker, Odion Ighalo, has revealed that the club’s main ambition this season still remains staying out of the bottom three.
The Hornets have slotted into Premier League life without too many issues this term and currently sit 12th in the table, despite having won just once in their last six in all competitions.
Much of the focus this season has been on surprise package Leicester, which Ighalo believes has taken a lot of pressure off the Watford squad.
However, he insists they are not getting carried away and understands they must stick to their initial target of reaching 40 points before starting to consider anything else.
Ighalo said: “It is good for us when people start talking about Leicester. We have been working hard but people have not been noticing us. I have been scoring goals, and Troy Deeney has also been doing very well, but we have been playing under not as much pressure.
“We are fighting to get the 40 points we need to play Premier League next season and then everything that comes after that we will thank God for. But we are not thinking of anything else now.”
