Waste agency warns residents against conmen

The Enugu State Waste Management Authority on Monday warned residents against dealing with conmen, who parade themselves as ESWAMA’s staff and collect money from them.
The Managing Director of ESWAMA, Amaka Anajemba, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu that the agency had received reports of some conmen parading themselves as ESWAMA officials.
Anajemba advised the residents to only deal with the agency’s staff at its offices in the state.
She maintained that all monies payable to the agency must be paid to designated banks while bank-draft and receipt collected from the bank and ESWAMA offices, respectively.
Anajemba said: “We have received series of reports of some conmen parading themselves as ESWAMA staff and going about fixing and collecting sanitation rate.
“ESWAMA is warning that residents should not patronise these conmen but do their business official at ESWAMA’s offices and ensure that all monies are paid to designated banks and receipt collected.
“Please follow the right channel so that you don’t end up paying twice.”
The managing director noted that the agency was doing all within its capacity to apprehend and prosecute these conmen to act as deterrent to others.
