The Governing Council of the University of Jos in Plateau State has approved the promotion of 10 Readers in the University to the rank of full professors.
A statement form the Senior Assistant Registrar, Information and Publications of the University of Jos, Abdullahi Abdullahi, disclosed that the promotion takes effect from October 1.
The statement said those promoted are Prof. John A. Adeiyongo from the Department of English, Prof. Simon J. Yiltok from the Department of Surgery, Prof. Josiah T. Mutihir, Prof. Patrick H. Daru (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) and Prof. Musa B. T. Umar (Anatomy).
The Governing Council was also said to have approved the promotion of Prof. Ekoja B. Ekoja (Accounting), Prof. Mathew N. Sule (Education Foundations), Prof. (Mrs.) Pauline M. Lere (Religion & Philosophy), Prof. Agatha Ekene Ani (Microbiology), and Prof. Alponsus F. Yakubu (Special Education & Rehabilitation Sciences).
In the meantime, nine others were also promoted to the rank of reader by the University’s Governing Council.
They are Dr. Jonah Musa from the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dr. James O. Adisa from Medical Lab. Science, Dr. Joshua P. Chollom (Mathematics), Dr. Patricia Manko Lar (Microbiology), Dr. Patience O. Nwadiaro (Plant Science & Technology), Dr. Patricia D. Wade (Ophthalmology), Dr. Christiana O. Okoye (Political Science), Dr. Bulus N. Gyang (Physics) and Dr. (Mrs.) C. M. Adeiyongo (Zoology).
