Actress Uche Jumbo released her 13th movie as an executive producer, After The Proposal, last week.
The movie, which stars Mama Gee and Uche Jombo herself, has recorded impressive sales figure.
The movie has mixed assemblage of new and old hands, including Patience Ozokwor, Bellinda Effah, Keira Haywatch, Theresa Edem, Anthony Monjaro and Shan Faqua.
It was released last week and the DVD has been heavily patronised.
Desmond Elliot directed After The Proposal, while Uduak Oguamanam and Uche Jombo are the executive producers.
The movie tells the story of a widow (Patience Ozokwor) blessed with three daughters and no son.
She couldn’t wait for one of her daughters to bring home a man.
When Kenneth (Anthony Monjaro) finally proposes to Mary (Uche Jombo) after eight years of courtship, his excitement of getting married was short lived when the demands from the elders of the village threatened to prevent the marriage as he sets out to purchase the endless items on her price list.
The many twists and turn of the comic film has earned it nomination in the AFRIFF 2014.
Jombo won best actress award at African International Film Festival 2013 for her role in Lies Men Tell.
However she has proven to be more than an actress as she continues to win admiration for her gallant strides as a producer and executive producer as well.
She rose from being an actress to an award-winning producer with over 12 movies under her belt.
Before forming UJ Studios, her production company, she had featured in over 100 movies.
Her movies have won numerous nominations and awards such as Best Comedy, Best Sound, Best Original Soundtrack and Best Original Screenplay among others.
Some of the movies Jombo has produced include Lies Men Tell, Misplaced, Mrs. Somebody, My Life My Damage, The Place, False, Holding Hope, Nollywood Hustlers, to mention but a few.
The movie, After The Proposal, shot with the latest digital camera with fantastic crew, is certainly a movie to look out for.
