Joao Menezes, Brazilian and winner of the Tombim Open on Thursday qualified for Dayak Open semi-finals after beating Garanganga Takanyi 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (7).
Menezes displayed determination and tenacity in the hotly contested match that lasted two hours and 52 minutes in the center court of the Abuja National Stadium.

Dayak open quarter-finals also saw Stephan Gerristen of Netherlands beating Eriksson Markus 6(6)-7, 6-3, 6-4 to pick a semi-final ticket.
The ITF pro-circuit tournament is for Association of Tennis Professionals to earn points for their advancement.
