The Presidency has declared the loyalty and commitment of Security Chiefs to President Muhamadu Buhari in their collective responsibilities of fighting organised crimes and decimating the Boko Haram terrorists.
A top Presidency source said the successes recorded by the military and other security agencies in the fight against Boko Haram and other organised crimes in the country are indications of loyalty and unity in the nation’s security apparatus and they should therefore be encouraged to continue in that line.
The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said with the level of sacrifices and commitment on the part of the military and security agencies in the fight against Boko Haram and organised crimes in the country, all that they need is encouragement and praises so that they will be encouraged to do more for the overall protection of our country Nigeria.
The source said: “The talk about division and fight among security chiefs is uncalled for at this time that Nigeria has decimated insurgency and organised crimes.
“As it is today, the National Security Adviser always holds the regular meetings with all the security chiefs or their representatives in attendance.
“There is no discord in the nation’s intelligence community and there will never be.
“Anyone alleging that is only concocting something imaginary.
“Anybody who is trying to create problem where there is none is attempting to create disaffection in the cohesive security apparatus of the President as there is no friction between them.”
The source appealed to “Nigerians and the international community to disregard any false information”.
He reaffirmed the loyalty and cohesion of the security apparatus and the will to continue to work to protect and defend the institutions that make up Nigeria.
