The Head of National Office (HNO), Patrick Areghan, gave the hint in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Saturday in Lagos.

The best candidate in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, Kamsiyochukwu Umeh, has again shown her academic prowess, clearing her papers in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination with 8 A1 and a B2.

The West African Examinations Council has withheld the results of 262,803 candidates who wrote the 2023 school candidate West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

Beneficiaries were drawn from Umuevu, Umuaghara and Umuvu villages in Onicha Nwenkwo town and from Obokwu Obizi village also in the local government area.

The council’s Head. National Office (HBO)  Patrick Areghan gave the assurance during an interactive session with newsmen on the level of  preparations ahead the examination nationwide, on Thursday in Lagos.

However, out of the 8,348 candidates that sat for the exam, it has withheld the result of 413 candidates due to varied cases of examination malpractice.

The Head, National Office, Patrick Areghan, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday.

This was disclosed by the management of the beach in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday.

The youngsters, both male and female, were pictured in a beer parlour drinking, with their uniforms extremely dirty thereafter.

WAEC Deputy Registrar/Zonal Coordinator, Dr Amos Dangut, disclosed this in Ikeja, at a workshop organized for public and private school principals from three Districts Tuesday in Lagos.

Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, the Head of Nigeria Office, WAEC, Patrick Areghan, said the exam would take a period of six weeks, adding that the revert to May/June period for the conduct of the examination should be celebrated.

Schools are expected to resume on September 13, while Model Colleges and upgraded schools’ students are to resume in batches from September 19.

The initiative, according to the First Lady, is designed to support students especially in low-cost schools from the five administrative divisions of the state namely Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island and Epe, with payment of outstanding fees that may prevent them from writing the ongoing Senior Secondary School WAEC examinations.
