This was as the commission lamented that the country has lost over 30 percent of its teaching workforce in the past three (3) years without replacement.
The Executive Secretary of the Commission, Hamid Bobboyi, made this known in Abuja on Wednesday.
UBEC Acting Executive Secretary, Prof. Bala Zakari, disclosed this during an oversight visit to the commission by the Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education, in Abuja Wednesday.
The Commission has also called on the Oyo State Government to recruit more teachers into primary schools.
The NPA programme is a collaborative exercise by the Universal Basic Education Commission and Ogun SUBEB.

Reacting to allegations that the state government has failed to pay its counterpart fund to access the projects, the Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, affirmed that the state has paid its counterpart funds for 2020 and 2021 to UBEC.

The commendation was made by the deputy chairman of the committee, Hon. Usman Zanna (APC, Borno), after the committee inspected projects in the state.
Dr Danlami Hayyo, the Chairman, Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), told newsmen in Kano on Wednesday that the pupils were enrolled into the schools across the 44 local government areas of the state.

“A lot of them are foreigners from Niger Republic, Chad and Cameroun,” Ganduje said while declaring open, a three-day retreat organised by the Universal Basic Education Commission in Kano.
