It would be recalled that fuel scarcity had hit some states last week, including Lagos State
Stanley’s sack was announced a few hours after the suspension of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, was made public
The Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), Hon. Dakuku Peterside, made the observation in Abuja on Tuesday when the committee paid an oversight visit to the PPPRA headquarters
Obafemi Olawore, the Executive Secretary of the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria, told the News Agency of Nigeria in an interview in Lagos on Thursday that the association’s members were now on the edge over the inability of the PPPRA to release the importation approval
Stanley said: “PPPRA hereby unequivocally states that the news making the rounds is a figment of the imagination of the people peddling it.
“The agency is not under any investigation whatsoever by the ICPC or any anti-corruption agency for that matter
He said there was never a time the audit report was “signed-off” by
the management of the PPPRA, challenging NEITI to make a copy of the
sign-off public, to prove its claim against PPPRA
Stanley explained that the N4.423 billion ‘over-recovery’ that the PPPRA was asked to remit was not correct, noting that only the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation still has an outstanding payment of about N3.98 billion to be paid into the account of the Central Bank of Nigeria
