Justice Inyang Ekwo, who gave the order while delivering a judgment in the suit brought by the CJ against Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, and others, described the move to probe the embattled judge as “unconstitutional and illegal.”

Justice Akeredolu made the allegation in a suit she filed before the Federal High Court Abuja in respect of which the court has restrained Akeredolu and other defendants in the suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/2016/2021 from taking any further steps that could hurt the plaintiff’s interest.
Justice Inyang Ekwo fixed the date after counsel to the Attorney General of the Federation, T. A. Uchegbu, prayed the court for an adjournment to enable her respond to the processes served on her by counsel to the judge, Jibrin Okutepa (SAN).
Also to be affected by the order are the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), the National Judicial Council (NJC) and the Inspector General of Police (IGP), who are all listed as defendants in a suit, marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/2016/2021 filed by Justice Akeredolu.
