Chuma Ezirim, First Bank’s Group Executive, e-Business and Retail Products, in a statement on Tuesday in Lagos, said the loan was a way of promoting business activities of the agents.
The investment in the Bank’s mobile banking infrastructure is in furtherance of the need to deepen financial inclusion in the country, enabling account opening to be carried out on its *894# USSD banking, FirstMobile (self-service telephone banking), its website – www.firstbanknigeria.com – as well as the Bank’s staff, through the Direct Sales Executive (DSE) application installed on their mobile phone, ATMs and the bank’s over 55,000 FirstMonie Agents spread across the country, the Bank said in a statement on Monday.
With currently over 37,000 Firstmonie Agents, present in 99 per cent of the 774 Local Government Areas in Nigeria, the Bank is the leading financial institution at promoting financial inclusion in the country to all Nigerians, regardless of where they are.
