The anti-graft agency, through its team of lawyers led by Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, told the court that Bello, who is facing another corruption charge before the High Court, repeatedly refused to make himself available for trial. 

Statutorily, EFCC has the right and privilege to investigate, arrest and prosecute persons allegedly involved in financial crimes. 

Justice Emeka Nwite fixed the date on Thursday.

Justice Emeka Nwite, in a ruling on EFCC’s ex-parte motion, held that after listening to the submission of commission’s counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, and reading the affidavit in support of the motion, including the exhibits and written address, he was inclined to grant the application.
