The representative of Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency of Oyo State, Hon. Temitope Olatoye, popularly known as Sugar, who was shot on Saturday during the ongoing Governorship and National Assembly elections, has been confirmed dead.
TV Continental quoted the spokesman of the University College Hospital, where Olatoye was rushed to after he was shot in the eye, as having confirmed the death of the lawmaker.
He was shot shortly after the close of voting on Saturday.
He was the candidate of the Action Democratic Party for the February 23, 2019 National Assembly election for Oyo Central Senatorial District.
The lawmaker, who eventually lost the contest to Senator Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress, had last year dumped the APC.
