Rep advises Jang to rebuild Jos main market

The Plateau State Governor, Jonah David Jang, has been tasked to step up efforts to acquire enough bomb detectors and Improvised Explosive Device detecting machines for security agents as well as improve their training in the bid to stop terrorist acts in the state.
Jang was also advised to rebuild the Jos main market as a way of reviving the economy of the state.
These were the position of the House of Representatives member representing Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency, Hon. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, who spoke in Jos during the visit of the House Committee on Emergency and Disaster Preparedness to the scenes of the Jos bomb blasts.
Kwande said that Jos main market was an economic lifeline in the state before the unfortunate inferno that razed the market.
Kwande added: “The barbaric and senseless attack on Terminus Market was aimed at bringing back the ugly days of discord among the citizens by destroying the economic nerve of the state.
“Terminus Market remains the neutral and a unifying factor in Jos city.
“I must commend the governor for his wonderful works in the area roads, hospitals, schools.
“He should consider rebuilding Jos main.
“Once he has done the market, the economic viability would come so that people would have a legitimate enclave to do their business.
“I am also appealing to people to respect laws of the land.
“Although sometimes we made laws that are not so good and sometimes laws that are good, but the fact remains that all laws are meant to be respected.
“And that area is where the government is trying to see how traders evacuated from there for their safety and the safety of other road users are taken care of.
“I am not blaming them for the blast, but we must all join hands to compliment the security agents.”
