Former Champions League winners, Real Madrid, are likely to face their eternal rivals, Atletico, and another hot contender, Bayern Munich, as the semi finals draw of the European prestigious football tournament holds on Friday in Lyon, France.
Real would prefer to battle Manchester City who are in the semi finals of the Champions League for the first time ever in their history.
Both Real and Bayern are former champions, while Atletico are no pushovers, having stopped Barcelona from creating history as the first club to win the Champions League back to back.
While Bayern dumped out Benfica, Real Madrid fought back to oust Wolfsburg, as Manchester City ease past Paris Saint Germain in the quarter finals of the competition.
The semi-final pairings will be determined by an open draw in which no teams are seeded and clubs from the same national association can be drawn against each other, just as an additional draw defines whether the winner of semi-final 1 or the winner of semi-final 2 are considered, for administrative purposes, the home team in the final.
