Read full transcript of confession of suspected killer of Air Chief Marshal Badeh + video

The Eagle Online has transcribed in full the confessions of Shuaibu Rabi, one of those that attacked a former Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, leading to his death.
The confession, in Hausa language, was made by Rabi to the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari that arrested him and one other person as earlier reported by The Eagle Online.
However, contrary to the initial report, Rabi never said the money with Badeh was not the type he had ever seen before.
According to the transcript, done for The Eagle Online by a former aide of a former Vice President of Nigeria, who did not give permission for The Eagle Online to credit him with the effort, what Rabi told his interrogators was that when the bag containing the money was taken by his colleagues, he did not know how much was contained in it.

One day Yaya (senior brother) went to the market of Gitata (under Karu town in Nasarawa State) and Allah (God) gave them the opportunity to meet with Ciroma.
Then Ciroma gave him the leakage that that old soldier (Badeh) has bought another land by the side and he will bring the money on a specified day, we should try and go and get the money.
When we went to collect the money, we saw him coming in his car as confirmed by Ciroma.
We asked him (Ciroma) whether it is his car and he confirmed to us that yes it is.
Immediately he confirmed that it is (Badeh’s) his car, we said to those that held weapons to be in front while we escort him from behind in case he gets blocked and decides to beat a retreat we would then come from behind.
He didn’t show them (those in front) that he intends to beat a retreat.
He wanted to pass in front of them and touch Ciroma (with his car) and drive away.
So Ciroma jumped to the side and opened fire.
After that, we opened the car and saw a bag of money and we left with it.
When the bag was opened and I saw the money.
I didn’t know how much was contained in the bag.
