Police confirm detention of Lagos hotelier over alleged ‘sodomy’ on schoolboys

Police operatives at the Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) Zone 2, Onikan, have apprehended a popular Lagos hotelier for allegedly sodomising secondary school boys.

The suspect identified simply as Mcdon was arrested yesterday at his hotel, Empire, located at Bucknor in the Isheri-Osun, Ejigbo, after weeks of evading police arrest.

It was gathered that trouble started for the hotelier in December when a 16-year-old secondary school student (names withheld), who joined his friends to the hotel for a Tik-Tok skit, was lured and defiled.

Confirming the arrest, AIG Adegoke Fayoade, on Wednesday said that the suspect will remain in detention pending conclusion of investigations.

According to the AIG, the hotelier was detained after the 16-year-old pupil confessed to his mother that he met the suspect at his hotel located at Bucknor in the Isheri Oshun area of the state.

The teenager, it was gathered, told his mother he wanted to make a confession before the new year, urging her to keep it a secret. 

But the mother, who could not stomach her son’s rattling confession, raised an alarm, especially as her son started acting abnormally minutes after opening up

”The boy’s father (name witheld) said: “We rushed him to a prayer house and after some days when he became a little bit sober, we took him to Isheri-Oshun Police Station where he made a statement and narrated his ugly encounter with the hotelier.

“Shockingly, after he disclosed the names of his fellow students that took him to meet the hotelier, he relapsed and started behaving like a mad person.

“The police succeeded in getting only one of the students who brought a laptop and gave detailed accounts of how the hotelier had been molesting them sexually,” a source said.
